Hello All, Asian results here this morning were once again very similar to those reported by Dennis as TP propagation took a definite step backward, in comparison to yesterday. What sounded like a real clunker session early on was rescued somewhat by a very late sunrise enhancement boost, bringing several Japanese big guns out of the noise to reach poor to fair levels. One of them (594-JOAK) even managed a few seconds of good audio just prior to 1400-- one of the biggest comebacks in recent memory. The band was absolutely comatose at my 1300 start time, with not even a weak Asian carrier to be found. This total shutout continued until around 1335 here, when both 594-JOAK and 693-JOAB started to manage very weak carriers. They both stayed that way until 1345, when they finally started to manage poor audio in a very late sunrise enhancement boost. Around this time 603-HLSA, 774-JOUB and 828-JOBB also started coming out of the noise at very weak levels, but their signals went downhill from there. On the other hand both 594-JOAK and 693-JOAB continued to rise up in strength, with JOAK hitting a few good peaks before 1400 and 693-JOAB managing fair signals in and out of the Vancouver splatter. Except for a ghostly signal from 603-HLSA around 1350 the Koreans were all missing in action here this morning, and unlike Dennis I had no high band propagation on 1566 and 1575. Overall it was a pretty dreary session, although it wasn't quite the total clunker that it seemed it would be during the predawn darkness. 594 JOAK Tokyo, Japan Japanese female speech at a fair to good level at 1358; best Asian signal of a lackluster session http://www.mediafire.com/listen/amtvumfgs7fk5tv/594-JOAK-1358z100614PL380.MP3 3+1 time pips at good level at the 1400 TOH, followed by male voiced Japanese NHK news http://www.mediafire.com/listen/ohgc8yy28bbjl63/594-JOAK-1400z100614PL380.MP3 73 and Good DX, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA) 7.5" loopstick Tecsun PL-380 Ultralight + 15" FSL antenna _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca
