Good morning.
I wrote a reply a while ago and have Ø idea where it went. Anyhow, I am in Algona, Iowa which is about 120 miles north and a bit west of Des Moines. We just moved here a few days ago. In detail this location is: Algona, Iowa 50511-3544 Latitude: 43.0648579 Longitude: -94.2305042 Elevation Ca.1,219 EN23vb The garage here houses my shack and is about 36 x 38 feet and about 25, high to the peak of the roof and only about 7 years olde and well insulated and with an attic plenty large for an apartment. At the moment my antenna is about 100 of # 12 wire around the attic perimeter. I put in three 8 ground rods yesterday and will bring the ground in with #4 wire for my station ground. The only ground now is the green wire on the AC. Not good. The Morse was difficult to decode even with a good decoder app and it did sound like a loop. It was a heterodyne beat and not MCW. The steady signal between code had a bit lower pitch and would never be noted for frequency stability! I will check again after a while. The two strong MF signals here are KLGZ on 1600 and the airport NDB AXA on 403 KHz. BTW in my very informal listening 20 minutes last night I did receive 17 NDBs. Travel safe! 73, Doc KØHTF. _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
