Hello All,

In almost a complete reversal of yesterday's situation, a band that was
comatose during the predawn darkness revived somewhat during a bizarre sunrise
enhancement boost, which selectively raised up a couple of second-tier Korean
stations along with some low-band Japanese big guns. As such, Nigel's very late
sunrise enhancement boost on the low band was repeated here on the coast,
although with some different Asians.

First check at 1300 revealed a hopeless band, with no Asian audio or even
carriers. This dreary state continued until around 1415, when 657-Pyongyang (of
all stations) started managing a decent carrier, followed by fair level vocal
music and even a weak Chinese co-channel (Henan?) at 1435. 603-HLSA did the
same a short time later with Korean pop music and its own Chinese co-channel
(Hulun Buir?), and these unlikely stations were the only Asians around until
1445, when 594-JOAK, 693-JOAB and 747-JOIB joined the late revival with fair to
good audio. Strangely enough the Korean superstation 972-HLCA stayed down in
the noise during this low-band enhancement, and the high band Asians were
completely ignored (as Nigel also reported). 657-Pyongyang's ancient vocal
music faded out around 1450, but 603-HLSA stuck around (along with the NHK big
guns) at a fair level right until the 1500 TOH, when the Japanese started to
bail. 603-HLSA was the sole Asian survivor after 1500, sticking around
stubbornly until 1510, when all the other Asians had long since faded into the
noise. Overall it was a very strange session, and another reminder that sunrise
enhancement can sometimes bring unusual surprises.

603  HLSA   Namyang, S. Korea   Fair level 3 + 1 time pips, KBS fanfare and the
deep-voiced male at the 1500 TOH; this station had been completely comatose
right up until 1415

657  Pyongyang BS   Pyongyang, N. Korea   Fair level female vocal music over
occasional Chinese co-channel (Henan?) at 1442; another late riser that had
been dead until 1415
