BOGs work. ?Sky loops work. ?Was wondering how a ground "mounted" loop might work as a non-directional receiving antenna. I can easily lay out a 300' loop in my back yard (more with creative geometry). ?The best test is to just do it of course, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with this configuration?
Bob Coomler W7SWL Tucson, AZ I made one today, 100' by 50' rectangle laid on the ground, fed to a 9:1 balun. It worked well enough for bcb reception, but it picked up a lot more signal when I grounded the antenna loop side of the balun. It did not have noticeable directionality as far as I could tell.
