That's what I'm considering going with, as I'm trying to come up with a method
to combat the growing buzz problem on my R-5000, which is coming from A)
somewhere upstairs; B) a neighbor across the street; C) the power lines on my
block; or D) a combination of any or all of the above. Does it sound
far-fetched? I see photos of ham operators who have deskfuls of tabletops, and
I have to admit that I'm rather envious. But I just don't know anymore that
it's practical for me to have any since the QRM is making DXing inside the
house a huge challenge. There is a baseball field next to a school that's
about a 20 minute walk from my place that I've taken portables to in the past
and DXed MW and LW from there, but it's rather tough to get the motivation to
want to go outdoors and DX in the middle of winter.
