NOAA has recently revamped their "space weather" web pages, with lots
of "gee whiz" graphics and so on. A good site in which to get
started is this one
http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/communities/space-weather-enthusiasts
as it contains a ton of information in one site, most of it static
unless you want to load and start various movies, in which case,
things can get out of hand pretty quickly.
