Re my logging of Sportsnet Radio Network's very early pre game show for the NHL all-star game on 1490 early on Sunday Jan 29... I've gone from seeing 1490 CJSN SK Shaunavon to now presuming one of three stations in Ohio on the Columbus Bluejackets radio network. Russ Edmonds says CJSN would be conceivable from my location but - his message is below - inconclusive. Shawn Axelrod e-mailed to tell me he hears CJSN from Winnipeg a few times every year. I spoke with the station, and they definitely don't air what I heard. I then called Sportsnet HQ here in Toronto (same people as CJCL The Fan 590, and also 960 Calgary) and they said the Bluejackets didn't send their own crew (or something to that effect) and instead latched onto Sportsnet's coverage. There are three affiliates on 1490, all in Ohio. I've previously heard all of them. As Dave 'Tiger' Williams' - a former Toronto Maple Leaf - once said, this logging is 'done like dinner'. Thanks Russ and Shawn! As a side note, I'd heard a rumour that CKSW 570 Swift Current SK was migrating to FM. The person I spoke with there says they're very much on AM and acknowledged no such plans. For me, that's good because they're a most-wanted on my hit-list. If anyone knows of plans to move CKSW to FM I'd be curious to know. Couldn't find anything online during a cursory search. Saul ChernosBurnt River ON

Given what I've seen from your location, I would say that it's conceivable, but the time of day strongly suggests a re-broadcast of some kind - possibly from CJSN, possibly not. Based on that I can't say it's conclusive. It gives a network ID, the Sportsnet Radio Network and mentions the Fan 590. That would suggest a Canadian station as the network is Canadian and the Fan 590 is CJCL Toronto. It seems a stretch to think I could have logged CJSN Shaunavon SK on a graveyard given that it's listed as 1000 watts. The clip is from Sunday Jan 25 at 0638 EST which seems odd for a pre game NHL all-star game, though it could be a rebroadcast and in SK would be before 6am. This is my optimal time for getting SK, the Dakotas and WI/MN etc... But, uh ... ??? Clip online at: http://forums.wtfda.org/showthread.php?9532 Thank you to those who listen and/or comment...
