Hello All,

Once again it was the low band Japanese big guns on 594, 693 and 747 managing
vibrant signals during sunrise enhancement, with very few other Asians sounding
healthy. A brief check of the band around 1300 did reveal potent signals on
1287 and 1566, however.

Around 1300 a quick scan of SSB carriers on the ICF-2010 spotting receiver
revealed both 1287-JOHR and 1566-HLAZ at strong levels, although in general the
band didn't seem to feature anything more than the usual big guns in audio. At
my 1400 start time outdoors 1287-JOHR was still at a good level (in bad
1300-Tacoma splatter), but it soon fizzled, along with 1566-HLAZ. The
increasing daylight brought both 594-JOAK and 693-JOAB up to very good levels
after 1410, and although 558-HLQH was managing fair peaks in 560 splatter the
usual Korean regulars on 603 and 972 were missing in action. 747-JOIB also rose
up to a good level // 693 with Japanese female speech around 1415, but that was
pretty much the story for a vey limited selection of Asians. Both 594 and 693
continued the diehard effort until 1430, when they also sunk into the noise.
The middle and high band were anemic indeed during sunrise enhancement, with
only a few weak peaks from 1503-JOUK (// 594) around 1425. Such was the story
of another NHK big gun revue.
