Hello All,

Despite unfavorable solar predictions several Asian signals showed up at fair
to good levels this morning, with 603-HLSA even making its first real
appearance of the month. The usual low band Japanese big guns showed up as
usual, but the high band had little to offer except for a fair-level 1566-HLAZ.

Because of the DST switch (and related family scheduling) the session started
off at 1315 here, although very little Asian activity was on the band until
around 1345, when 693-JOAB's Chinese lessons began building up to a good level.
594-JOAK was also in and out at a good level around the same time, while the
other NHK big guns on 747, 774 and 828 were fighting electrical noise and
splatter to reach good levels in and out. 1566-HLAZ was the only high band TP
that was managing audio during the predawn darkness, but its good level peaks
were of very short duration. The increasing daylight around 1410 did nothing
for the Japanese big guns (or 1566-HLAZ) but it did raise 603-HLSA out of the
noise for its first real appearance of March-- with a weak 603-China
underneath. The same daylight boost brought 657-Pyongyang's vocal music up to a
poor level, with 738 reaching threshold level Chinese-sounding audio. The
Korean big guns on 972, 1053 and 1134 were conspicuous by their absence,
though, and none of the Asians really reached a potent level all morning long.
As usual 594-JOAK was the last one to sink under the noise, sticking it out
until around 1435. Overall the session was nothing to shout about, but the
increasing variety of low band Asians was a welcome change.
