Nick…..Here's some of the Receivers I used over the years to try and hear something on 1400 Khz……… DRAKE R8B JRC NRD-535D Collins HF-2050 Collins 651-S1 Collins R-390A Collins R-388 Hammarlund SP600 RCA AR88 Hallicrafters SX-28A National HRO-60 Several Kenwood Amateur Transceivers with General Coverage 24 Different ULR Radios and a Multitude of lesser known Receivers that I have forgot about…….. And…None of them worked to hear anything over the splatter from CKSL 1410 London!!!! I'm pretty close to the Transmitter site and I don't ever remember them going off the air!! I have used Longwires, Dipoles, Box Loops, FSL's and Ferrite Rods…None of those worked either. The SDR is the only thing that has worked for me…and I just logged another New Station on 1400 Khz tonight……WRAK - Williamsport, PA @ 2300 EDT. So that's 2 New ones in 2 Nights and Zip in 39 years before that……… 1400 Khz has always been my Nemesis…….. Regards…ROB VA3SW Robert S.
