The issue here in the US, if Congress doesn't want to fund it, then it will close. The FCC has already been downsized so much, I have figured they may do away with it in time and construct some other type of policing field, maybe in the private sector as they have done with prisons. One engineer started that maybe the government should do a bounty type busines. If a radio station is busted for something, then the agent or whatever title they would give them would get a piece of the action from the fines. That way the policing business is still in operation without the government involved as much. But still they would have to do the paperwork, the courts, etc.
