Very nice indeed! Neil's logging stirs some memories, and gives me another chance to reflect on how badly my AM reception situation has deteriorated. Using just a homebrew air-core loop (1m diameter), I logged 1530 Sao Tome in June 2003, and again in February 2004. I also logged the Vatican on 1530 in April 2004, not to mention KFBK in October 2004! This was about 11 years ago, so roughly in the same part of the sunspot cycle as we are now.

With mounting indoor noise problems, I moved to outdoor antennas (two overlapping pennants crammed into my postage stamp-sized backyard) in the fall of 2006, and that gave my AM DXing a new lease on life that lasted a few more years. I raked in lots of TAs, Latin Americans, western NA stations, and even a few TPs. Nowadays, about all I can hear using any antenna are the big gun domestic stations, along with some superpower Cubans and the like. :-(
