Thanks to Dennis for his early, detailed TP report. The Asians behaved a little
differently here than in Kalama, and the dreary band that Colin seemed to hope
for prevailed until about 1340-- when a huge boost seemed to hit the Japanese
big guns, and also brought 738-BEL2 and the 1053-Jammer up to their seasonal
best levels. 693-JOAB even ended up with its best signal ever here around
1355-- maybe even audible in downtown Vancouver?

In the predawn darkness my session started at 1255, and except for the usual
good signal from 1566-HLAZ the band seemed fairly subdued. The Japanese big
guns sounded pretty anemic, and the Koreans on 972 and 1053 didn't sound any
better. Around 1305 a weak mix of 603-China and HLSA came out of the noise, and
657-Pyongyang got in a few weak Korean male tirades before 660 splatter
silenced it around 1310. Unfortunately, none of these signals had any energy,
and quickly bailed. The Asians seemed stuck in mediocrity even after bright
sunlight came out, and it seemed like the session would turn out to be the
clunker that Colin desired. Just when the Asians seemed ready to pack it in
around 1340, a sudden, huge boost hit both the NHK big guns and second-tier
TP's on the low band. The 1053-Jammer also got a huge boost, reaching its best
level of the new season at 1346. A previously dead 738-BEL2 rose up out of the
noise to hit a fair to good level at 1343, with the usual Chinese female
announcer playing local pop music. The Japanese big guns on 594, 693, 747, 774
and 828 shook off their doldrums to pound in with local-like strength,
especially the S9+ 693-JOAB with its Chinese lessons at 1355-- its best signal
level ever here in Puyallup. Because the sharp signal enhancement occurred very
late in the session it didn't stick around for long, though, and even the NHK
big guns started packing it in shortly after the 1400 TOH. The session was
pretty memorable because of 693-JOAB's awesome signal, as well as the best
seasonal levels of both 738-BEL2 and the 1053-Jammer.
