Asian signals seemed somewhat more healthy this morning here than in Colin's
version. A fairly good sunrise enhancement boosted 1566 and 1593 up to
respectable levels around 1505, although 1593-CNR1 didn't quite match its
unusually good level of a week ago.
At my 1450 start time there were some fair signals in and out from the Japanese
big guns on 594 and 774, as well as weak audio from the KBS2 parallels on 558
and 603. 972-HLCA was also managing a fair level with its bizarre singing
practice, as were the high band regulars 1566-HLAZ and 1593-CNR1. Sunrise
enhancement around 1500 gave a moderate boost to both 1566 and 1593 but tended
to weaken all the low band signals except for 603-HLSA (with a steady poor
signal). 1593-CNR1 was the best performer late on but never could quite shake
off the Seattle splatter, broadcasting a Chinese male monolog at a fair level
in and out from 1500-1515. Overall the session was somewhat above average for
the mediocre month, although not quite up to an interesting level.
