After more late night antenna work Asian propagation was checked around 1155
UTC, and TP signals were found to be the strongest and most diverse of the
entire month so far. The usual big guns on 594, 693, 972 and 1566 were all
managing fair peaks at times, while weak audio was also on 558, 603, 738, 1134,
1575 and 1593. Of course when the FSL antenna and MP3 recorder were set up in
the back yard Asian signals hit the skids, and were essentially gone by 1230
(except for 1566-HLAZ, which was at a good level in and out). The equipment was
quickly dismantled before anybody could notice the bizarre DXer out in the cold
at 0430 local time, and another band check at 1530 revealed the usual December
Doldrum setup, with only weak carriers showing up on 972 and 1566.
