It was a five-tower directional, but an unusual one in that only the center tower was driven. The other four in a parallelogram around the center tower were passive and could be detuned as needed to create different DA patterns. They had one south-pointing pattern to serve South America at night, then went ND for the morning hours to serve the Caribbean, and could also steer the array to point north for a few hours a day. It was more like a SW antenna setup than the typical MW array.
