Also -- not quite -- there are production houses for content at the CBC - a
solid majority of news that is
broadcast in house originates from CBC studios - but there are lots of
exceptions -
and there is a lot of "public-private partnerships" in industry that
produce news and documentary content.

The CBC is not a purely socialist enterprise as some would think.
