As Colin and Nick have reported the Asians were full of energy this morning,
although until late in sunrise enhancement the results here mostly favored the
Japanese and Korean big guns. Late on around 1350 there was a boost to some
relatively obscure Chinese stations on 936 and 1044, but these signals didn't
stick around for long.

At my 1305 start time the NHK big guns on 693 and 747 were setting the pace
with good peaks, along with some occasional huge signals from 972-HLCA during
its variety program. Until the first sign of daylight around 1330 these big
guns and the other Japanese on 594, 774 and 828 were the only energetic
signals, taking turns reaching very good levels at times. 972-HLCA reached
excellent levels at 1309 with Korean female talk and at 1320 with female vocal
music. Late on around 1345 some mid-band Chinese stations started getting a
late sunrise enhancement boost, with 936 (presumed Anhui) and 1044-CRI managing
weak audio peaks in and out. 738 also had weak Chinese peaks for much of the
session (with programming typical of BEL2), while 1143 was managing a strong
carrier but couldn't quite break into audio.  Other than the usual fair signals
from the 1053-Jammer and 1566-HLAZ that was pretty much the story, with the
high band distinctly anemic here. Best Asian signal of the session was from
972-HLCA, with very strong traditional Korean female vocal music at 1320.
