Tower 4 at the main Burns Bog transmitter site was cut down around 12:20 p.m. Tuesday following a structural engineering recommendation and safety considerations. An insulator failed, plunging the tower off its base and 30 feet into the bog. The main building, common point building and tower 2 have been saved, but three tower huts were destroyed in the blaze.
