Hi Richard, <<< A strong carrier was heard on 702 kHz from 1156 UTC until local sunrise at 1204. No audio heard to properly ID source but assume it was 2BL, Sydney NSW. The signal faded away shortly after sun-up. No signal on 774 (3LO). Receiver: C Crane Skywave with 8" FSL. >>>
It's great to hear your early-season report of the strong 702 kHz carrier received in Oklahoma. Keep trying on 594, 702, 738 and 747 kHz during these auroral conditions, and you may well come up with some DU audio on your CC Skywave, especially with the serious boost from your 8" FSL antenna. All of those frequencies have a reputation for reception at far inland locations. 73, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard N Allen" <[email protected]> To: [email protected], [email protected] Sent: Friday, September 2, 2016 9:15:09 AM Subject: [IRCA] Oklahoma TP DX 9/2/16 A strong carrier was heard on 702 kHz from 1156 UTC until local sunrise at 1204.
