When I lived in northern California, Radio Rossii on 279 was fairly dependable
and a good friend. It didn't interfere with NDB chasing, was well programmed
and the announcer was sooo mellow. The other frequencies were hit or miss, but
always fun to chase. After moving to Tucson, 279 was the only one that was
able to make the trip and was sporadic at best. Time and radio move on.

Well, not exactly a dozen on LW in Siberia, Colin:
153 was Komsomolsk, Khabarovskiy Krai
180: Petropavlsovsk-Kamchatskiy
189: Belogorsk, Amurskaya oblast
234: Arman, Magadan
243: Razdolnoe
261: Chita (very rarely heard)
279: was Yuzno Sakhalinsk, usually the strongest (and closest to us).
234 and 243 were the first to disappear, followed by the others.
