Todays session involved billabongs, cane toads and didgeridoo.. pretty much... entirely...
Yesterday Nick asked what it would take to suck the "domo origato" out of a sequence of Japanese openings that have been going on for weeks - you know how tedious they can be. Well. We reached that point today. Listened from 1300 until 1345 - and although Japan on 693 surfaced with remarkable clarity against the polite CBC 690 assault with appearances of Japan on 567, 594, 702, 774, 828 and 891 (891 being at wonderful levels for a few minutes...) the helium powered giggles were quickly drained from the NHK tsunami and replaced with the chalk dry whispers of an All ABC appearance from Aussie land. By 1320 UTC it was all Aussie on* 576, 585, and 612* - with ABC National. English also appeared on 675, 756, and 765 -- all with low modulation and quiet English speaking. I am sure it was all very interesting -- and hopefully others with more DU experience caught some of this action. NHK would make a second feeble run at around 1340 with EE lessons on 702, 774 and 828 - all parallel.
