OCTOBER 10 - 2016 Listened from 1340 until 1415 - It was an all 1st tier NHK and Korean event for the 1st 15 minutes or so that slowly leaned somewhat DU and then swung back to TP again.
Audio, generally poor and occasionally migrating to fair on 531 (DU sounding EE), 558, 567, 594, 603 (pop music) 639, 675 (DU sounding), 693 NHK at good levels 1350U, 702, 738, 747 Japan, 756 and 765 DU sounding, 774 NHK, 828 NHK, 855 actually talk and music, 891 several, 918, 936, 954, 963 CRI Russian, 972 Korea - one of the best signals of the morning, 1008, 1017 maybe Japanese, 1053 Jam, 1098 BIG open carrier after 1400... What was interesting this morning was anything and everything of consequence above 1300 was muted as if someone installed a filter between 1300 and 1600 Khz. Korea and Thailand put in feeble appearances on 1566 and 1575 - overall the upper band was a wash out. With a DXpedition less than 90 days away to Kona, Hawaii - I have determined that I will bring Gary Debock modified Tecsun and Eton radios. Offers to bring Gary Debock to Hawaii were quietly dismissed by his loving family. *Happy Canadian Turkey Day - * Radio - Drake R8 Antennas - W/NW Flag and N/NE Flag R-M-L Phaser VACTROLS -- Colin Newell - Editor and creator *of *Coffeecrew.com <http://www.Coffeecrew.com> and DXer.ca <http://www.DXer.ca> - VA7WWV | Twitter @CoffeeCrew | Victoria - Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
