Happy Hallowe'en all - as sunset occurs earlier these days I am able to get some DX'ing done around dinnertime now. The band is really quiet at this time because there is much reduced splatter from the stateside stations that are not yet in darkness. Here's a couple of nice clean signals from last night.
1. FRANCE - TWR Europe 1467 kHz 30 Oct 2016 2112-2118 UTC: Interval Signal until 2115, sign on and ID. Fair strength (builds towards sign on as SS in Halifax yesterday was 2104 UTC and it seems to be about 5 minutes later here, I'm a little farther west). Rcdg from 2112. https://www.dropbox.com/s/nstxe845num4rqf/Radio%20-%20TWR%20Europe%201467%20 kHz%2030%20Oct%202016%202112%20UTC.mp3?dl=0 2. GIBRALTAR - R Gibraltar 1458 kHz 30 Oct 2016 2128-2133 UTC: Pop mx, clear ID at BOH. Fair-Good. One of those 'it's not strong but it's clear' signals. New country, 4kW. https://www.dropbox.com/s/m5pjvlon5so94wp/Radio%20-%20R%20Gibraltar%201458%2 0kHz%2030%20Oct%202016%20212930%20UTC.mp3?dl=0 Kind regards, Michael PS there was also a whack of lower powered (5/10 kW) Spaniards on the upper part of the band, but I don't report them because I have no real idea in most cases where they actually originate due to the synchro networks. I need to spend some time around 0620 and try and put a few of these in the log. _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
