Hi Nigel, <<< ... and 1566 had an odd sound in the background. Didn't really sound like the jammer Gary hears, but something similar. >>>
The 1566-N.K. Jammer has been using a different sound than it did last September. The "buzzing bee" pulse every two seconds is still there, but the loudest sound now is a harsh pulsing tone of about 2000 Hz, pulsing in two second cycles in between the "buzzing bee" pulses. This was the 1566-Jammer's signal this morning at 1315, interfering with HLAZ's Japanese service: Maybe you heard something like it? https://app.box.com/s/gg15dn3r7k30hl9kjnif3zqs2ctgcmzq 73, Gary ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nigel Pimblett" <[email protected]> To: "Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America" <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, November 25, 2016 9:39:36 PM Subject: [IRCA] Alberta TPs for 25 November 2016 A rather odd morning here. Audio was on the scarce side, with only 1116 4BC, HLAZ 1566, VOA 1575, and an unID on 1386 (sounded like Japan) providing bits of audio now and again in the 1400-1440 time period. On the other hand the band had carriers right from 531 to 1701, seemingly from both DU and TP stations. The Chinese on 1206 was close to audio at times, and 1566 had an odd sound in the background. Didn't really sound like the jammer Gary hears, but something similar. A few more dB would have made it a very interesting morning, and as it was it exceeded my expectations. 73, Nigel Pimblett Dunmore, AB Perseus SDR with Wellbrook Phased Array _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected] _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
