Your experience with the ALA100 loop is intriguing to me, Walt. I
wonder if it's the placement of it relative to noise sources?
I've almost always found the Flags to be a noisier antenna than the
ALA100 loop, but the directionality of the Flags (sometimes
incidentally nulling out the noise as well as the domestics,
sometimes not) make them the go-to antenna for overseas DX at this
location. Fortunately, domestic splash rather than local
electrical noise is still usually the dominant source of interference here.
best wishes,
Nick

Coliin, as I have the ALA loop up all of the time, along with my 2 super
loops, I can categorically state that the loops (and Pennants/Flags, I'm
sure), blow away the ALA loop. The ALA loop is a great all around
compromise antenna, working nicely from LW to the top of the SW band.
That's why I have it. For TA/TP work, however, my super loops are much,
much better, and quieter, too. 73,...Walt
