Thanks to Craig for his earlier report (which unfortunately I'm unable to read,
because of AOL issues). Asian propagation was interesting this morning not so
much for the strength of the big guns, but for the unusual variety of Chinese
mid-band stations showing up. During sunrise enhancement from 1315-1345 a
presumed 936-Anhui, 1017-CRI, 1035-CNR1 and 1044-CRI were all managing weak
audio at times on a simple 5 inch "Frequent Flyer" FSL, along with other
second-tier Asians on 603, 657 and 1575. The Japanese and Korean big guns
weren't especially strong, although 972 and 1566 did have their usual potent
moments. This was the first time this year that so many Chinese stations have
shown up with audio on a 5" FSL, and hopefully a sign of good DX to come this
spring.
