The problem is that they approve a "type" of product, and often that's that.. It isn't clear here whether or not these products in fact even met the type that had been approved. However, the gov. ought to put its own house in order first. Their "energy star" boondoggle Is just that. Their testing is highly specious and what they tout is largely sent from "greased palms". Even the iconic "sae" and underwriters labs have questionable testing.
