I remember DXing during an eclipse in 1963. From where I was in metro-Boston,
the enhancement was most noticeable on the upper end of the dial with WKBW
Buffalo, NY making a particularly strong showing on 1520 right next to local
WMEX 1510.
There was another eclipse in the '70s that was not as close to totality and, as
a result, exhibited less dramatic differences on MW versus regular daytime
conditions.
I will certainly be running some SDR captures during the August eclipse even if
this area is likely to be affected less than some other parts of the US.

Subject: [NRC-AM] ECLIPSE DX-ING
I’m curious as to what DX-ers will be doing during the once-in-a-lifetime
August eclipse. How about sharing your plans?
I will have a D-Kaz oriented at 340 degrees from North-Central Minnesota, with
an SDR recording 100 kHz to 1700 kHz.
Cheers!
