All times and dates strictly UT [4 hours ahead of `ELT` during EDT; when
changing times one must also change the dates for events in the 00-04 UT eriod
to the previous date by ELT].

Rx: mostly DX-398 with internal antenna only or PL-880; NRD-545 with ALA-330S
inside E-W or inside randomwire N-S; Nissan stock caradio as specified; IC-R75
with E-W longwire. FRG-7 is no longer in use.

These logs are excerpts from my daily all-band reports, mainly SWBC, also
VHF/UHF, sometimes, utility, ham, which may be found in several archives
without much delay, such as
http://www.hard-core-dx.com/index.php?topic=Hauser

And compiled weekly along with extensive news from many other individuals and
publications in DX LISTENING DIGEST:

All my MW DX reports starting August 2011 are archived in this forum with open
access:

[over 241,000 views! as of September 1, 2017]

These logs are in four sections, Canada [if any], Oklahoma [if any], rest of
USA [if any], unidentified [if any], separated by ======= Within each, they are
in frequency order

** OKLAHOMA. 1170 +IBOC noise, Aug 30 at 1207 UT, KFAQ Tulsa local talkhost
trying to deny that this is a ``failing state`` despite budget crisis, teachers
fleeing to Texas, highest female incarceration rate, worst opioid epidemic,
etc., etc. (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 1520, Aug 30 at 0555 UT, KOKC OKC with Deborah telling fortunes to
random callers; oh, make that ``psychic readings`` on `Beyond Reality Radio`.
What nonsense they ply us with, M-F at 05-06 UT per sked, which requires
expansions to see it all:
http://kokcradio.com/program-schedule/

BRR is originally a 2-hour show from 04 UT, infesting a number of major
stations:

===================

** U S A. 720, Aug 29 at 1136 UT, news in English by M&W looping E/W, weak and
steady, only station on frequency, no sign of WGN (which would loop NE), fading
down around 1145 UT, resurges a bit, but 1158 UT check, blocked by Spanish,
XEJCC Juárez just signing on. Got to be 50 kW KDWN Las Vegas NV, there are so
few USA 720 stations, either on ND day pattern way early, or fraxion of signal
leaking out around the cardioid null toward Chicago, a few degrees off from
here (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 730, Aug 30 at 1134 UT, 85 degree forecast, KLOE ID in passing, back
to `America`s First News`. Not that far away at Goodland, NW corner of Kansas,
but rarely heard here; now it`s dominant even over XEHB. Not a daytimer but
1000/20 watts U1, also 20 watts PSRA. Guess what: official FCC sunrise in
August is 1200 UT; soon to be 1230 UT in September. Note that Goodland is on
Mountain time, like most of the westernmost tier of Kansas counties, which
might as well find themselves in Colorado (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** U S A. 1590, Aug 29 at 0003 UT, looking for something Houstonic, instead
``KVGB and 97-7 FM``, a strangely worded illegal ID, from Great Bend KS,
disclaimer from Kansas City Royals, pending a silly ballgame? But first,
adstring. You guessed it: 97.7 is a mere translator, but at least is not given
top billing, K249FA per new NRC AM Log.

Not much explicit info to be found in mainstream media about which AM stations
are doing good coverage or knocked off the air by Harvey, but about radio and
TV in general from Corpus to Lake Charles Aug 26-28:
http://www.radiodiscussions.com/showthread.php?704406-How-s-Harvey-affecting-Coastal-Bend-radio
and much more here:
http://www.radiodiscussions.com/forumdisplay.php?680-Houston-Galveston

Not to diminish the seriousness of this catastrophe, since we are getting
wall-to-wall coverage on various TV networks. Yet local OKC TV stations want to
get in on the axion by sending their own teams into the flood. Please! We`ve
got enough to keep up with in our own area. And BTW, all-news networx: the rest
of the country and the rest of the world still exist (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD
OF RADIO 1893, DX LISTENING DIGEST) {later: well, covering Okie contributions
to recovery effort is to be expected}

** U S A. 2097.3-CW, Aug 30 at 1152 UT, beacon ``A`` in Morse code every
dekasecond, quite clearly, from Quartzsite AZ. Nice to hear at least one of
these QRP beacons, with nothing audible on the 4 or 13 MHz bands for months
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
