This morning's conditions were a lot like yesterday, all DU, with the lower half of the band favoured. Actually the split was even more pronounced today, with only ever-reliable 4BC providing any audio above 1000 khz. The upper band was totally dead, with the X-band bearing no resemblance to last week.

774 3LO Melbourne, AUSTRALIA Bits of ABC news poking above the noise level at 1304

792 4RN Brisbane, AUSTRALIA Hadn't been audible during the news, but came up at 1306 with talk by man.

846     2RN     Canberra, AUSTRALIA     ABC news by man at 1303.

855     4QB/4QO Queensland, AUSTRALIA   Poor, with ABC news fanfare at 1300.

891 5AN Adelaide, AUSTRALIA Not quite as good as yesterday, but still decent at 1257 with man and woman talking. More splatter today though.

963 unID ? Noted for a couple of minutes at 1255 with the song "Oh What a Night" from the 60's. Can't see Star playing that, so would guess 4WK is likely?

1116 4BC Brisbane, AUSTRALIA Several local ads at 1257, program promo mentioning 4BC. Into Macquarie news at 1300.


The SDR at Lamont showed similar signals, generally a little stronger before 1300, but then for some reason signals up there faded more quickly, in spite of sunrise being later.
