This was almost a lackluster morning for TPs, with only the regulars present for most of the morning.

Just when hope was almost lost, there was an interesting mini-enhancement for a few minutes at the upper end of the dial. It was good enough to produce weak audio from a few low powered Japanese.  It also raised the signals on 1422 and 1503 to about the same strength as 1566.  Best of all, I had JOWF-1440 mixing with domestics for several minutes.

Here's what was heard during the enhancement, which lasts from about 1350 to 1405 UTC.  I'll skip the rest of the stuff, which wasn't all that interesting today.

1287    JAPAN, JOHK 1357 fair w/Japanese talk, single tone at ToH, then more talk

1323    CHINA,  CRI 1400 the usual trumpet fanfare & ID weak

1386    JAPAN, NHK2, 1359 Japanese male talk fair //774, ran across ToH with no pips

1422    JAPAN, JORF 1401 Japanese man & woman quite good

1440    JAPAN, JOWF, 1353 animated fast-talking Japanese woman mixing with domestics, sometimes dominating, for several minutes. Single tone at ToH

1458    UNID, 1359 bits of music poor

1467    JAPAN, NHK2(somewhat tentative), 1402 male talk, I'm about 90% sure it was  //747

1494    UNID, 1402 weak audio sounded like 2 stations, one with talk and the other with music

1503    JAPAN, JOUK, 1356 lively fast-talking conversation in Japanese, 1400 3+1 pips, then sedate man w/what sounded like news, good, about as strong as 1566

1557    TAIWAN, 1354 man & woman in Chinese, 1358 piano music, 1400 3+1 pips & possible ID, then more Chinese talk, mostly fair

1566    S KOREA, HLAZ, 1354 easy listening vocal song, then announcements in Chinese good

1575    JAPAN, AFN, 1359 pop music, 1359:50 brief anmt by man, then news in American English by woman.  Weak and no definite ID but format fits AFN

1593    CHINA, CNR1, 1401 tail end of ID and Chinese talk, fair briefly rising above 1590 splash

1602    JAPAN, NHK2 1402 talk //1386 poor w/QRM from nearby electronics source
