With the way the NAB was pushing HD Radio years ago, I am surprised it took
this long, from the early 90s when Bob Rusk was writing about it in RW. I
doubt the station will have many listeners as who has an HD radio? Few do, even
not a lot in auto radios. I find the Sony HD radios in thrift stores these
days. I have two. Here on the OR coast I can hear KSL 1160 in HD off the
Eastern Beverage at times. I presume once stations decide to go all digital,
analog DXing will be a thing of the past. A few more FMs I get in HD as they
seem to get out better.

Is it?

Since they have no analog, there's no reason for them to use the hybrid mode of
IBOC which has both analog and digital. That is what causes the interference
to adjacent chanbnels and limits the IBOC coverage a bit.

If they use the all digital mode, there are different expectations for
interference and coverage amd we'll have to re-analyze things.

But I'm unaware as to whether all digital IBOC has FCC approval.

It's not WWFD 820; it's "WWFD 800--810--820--830--840"

:-))
