No significant TAs to derail my report tonight, so here's what was heard
this morning in southern Alberta. The big surprise was a huge signal
from CNR11 on 1098. Overall it was definitely the best Chinese morning
of the season. The Japanese were rather lacklustre today, other than
the big guns. Most of the activity occurred midband from about 800-1200
567 JOIK Sapporo, JAPAN Weak, with traces of talk,and NHK pips at 1400
819 KCBS N.KOREA Woman singing ('patriotic' no doubt) operatic style
vocal at 1245
837 unID Traces of man talking at 1354. Seemed Chinese.
864 HLKR S.KOREA Talk by man, musical bridge at 1311.
945 CNR1 Music at 1359, woman and man in Chinese, them 5+1 time pips
954 JOKR Tokyo, JAPAN Woman in Japanese at 1312
963 CRI Man in Russian at 1346
981 CNR1 Man in Chinese at 1336.
1017 CRI Woman talking in Korean at 1347, CRI theme music at 1400.
1044 CRI CHINA Weak, with woman in Japanese at 1331
1089 unID Man in Chinese at 1338, fair level at times. Guessing
Lianoning as heard years back. Another station was audible underneath
at times.
1098 - CNR11 Golmud, CHINA First noted faint singing at 1223, up to
good level by 1242 with vocal by man. //SW freqs and Indian SDR

1098 unID a second station with talk began mixing with CNR11 just after
1400.
1107 unID Talk by woman at 1347, and song by a woman. Too weak to ID
language but didn't seem Chinese/Japanese/Korean. 5+1 pips at 1400
1116 4BC Brisbane, AUSTRALIA Talk by usual host at 1308
1134 unID Traces of man talking at 1354
1170 KJNP North Pole, AK ID just past 1400, mixing with presumed KBS
