I use E-Bay semi-regularly myself. I think it's great fun. I don't use it for 
fencing equipment mind. Usually if I need equipment I'll need it fairly 
quickly, and so won't be waiting around for it to appear in an auction.   2 
Quick tips: 1) Don't just search on the UK site. Also search on the european 
sites where things are often cheaper. 2) When on european sites use Google to 
translate you're searches into different languages. Heres a list of the word 
"fencing" translated into different languages: escrime, fechten, scherma, 
espada.   Not sure about the last one. I know it's spanish for sword, not sure 
if that translates to fencing also.
