There is a fixed bug with the exact same exception (it has a nice ID as well - 1000): http://ironruby.codeplex.com/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=1000
Its current status is fixed (Aug 5). Maybe it's the same issue? Do you use the latest version from GitHub?
