Selling Democracy with Hypocrisy
Considering how the United States is working hard to promote democracy in
other nations, it is timely to examine the nature of American democracy.
Democracy is a much overused word meaning different things to different
people. While in Europe recently, President Bush said: "We believe that the
voice of the people ought to be determining policy, because we believe in
democracy." The problem is that this is an incorrect statement, because the
