War Crime : Our Own Nuremberg Trials
Our rampant lawlessness during the past four years at Guantánamo has
long been "controversial" in the international press and among human
rights groups. But the extent and depth of our abuse of these prisoners—
resulting in a number of desperation suicides—have been illuminated with
damning clarity in a series of reports by New Jersey's Seton Hall

9/11 : Bush Cracks Down on Gitmo Detainees, Despite Overwhelmin Evidence
Most are Not Terrorists - Innnocents Abroad
"The U.S. is holding hundreds of innocent people at its detention
facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba."
"Military authorities at Guantanamo have decided to tighten the screws
on detainees because it has been determined that the U.S. has been too
kind and accommodating to them."
If you find those two sentences jarring and contradictory, you're not
alone, yet both were leading news items in today's newspapers. The first
appeared in a page one story in of the Philadelphia Inquirer by
Associated Press reporter Andrew O. Selsky, which said most of the
detainees are innocent of any crime. The second was a page one story in
the New York Times by reporter Tim Golden, who reported on a harsh
crackdown on Guantanamo detainees, including removal of common eating
privileges, inmate soccer games, and incentives for good behavior by
prisoners.

Okay, I call BS on this one. Clinton's claim here is that it was okay to
vote for war because at the time, she thought that was the best option
based on the information she had. To accept that, you have to accept
that a US Senator, with taxpayer-paid-for staffing and operating budget,
couldn't see the obvious signs of deception that bloggers operating on

Do you believe that? I don't. I have no reason to like Clinton, but I

Why is the US Government So Afraid of Justice In the Case of Dr. Rafil
Dhafir?
Urgent Request For Funds To Buy Trial Transcripts in defense of a
blessed man wrongfully convicted by the Bush Justice Department for his
crime of compassion:
In direct response to the humanitarian catastrophe created by the brutal
and unjustifiable U.S. and U.K. sponsored UN embargo on Iraq, Dr. Rafil
Dhafir started the charity Help the Needy (HTN). For 13 years he worked
tirelessly to help publicize the plight of the Iraqi people and to raise
funds to help them.
According to the US government, he donated $1.25 million of his own
money. As an oncologist, he was particularly concerned about the effects
of depleted uranium and skyrocketing Iraqi cancer rates. Because of this
humanitarian work he has been incarcerated since February 26, 2003.
Bankrupting Dr.Dhafir was just one of the many tools the Bush Justice
Department employed to make it impossible for him to defend himself.
They also held him without bail for 31 months and denied him access to
his counsel and his own records. He is now serving 22 years in jail for
a crime he was never charged with in a court of law.

Worse Than Apartheid
Israel has spent the last five months unleashing missiles, attack
helicopters and jet fighters over the densely packed concrete hovels in
the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army has made numerous deadly incursions,
and some 500 people, nearly all civilians, have been killed and 1,600
more wounded. Israel has rounded up hundreds of Palestinians, destroyed
Gaza's infrastructure, including its electrical power system and key
roads and bridges, carried out huge land confiscations, demolished homes
and plunged families into a crisis that has caused widespread poverty
and malnutrition.

Under an Iron Fist
Palestinians don't want fresh elections in the occupied territories, but
a free vote for a truly national ruling body.
"Let the people decide for themselves what they want," declared Mahmoud
Abbas, the Palestinian Authority president, yesterday. But there
already is a national consensus, an underlying unity in a common
platform. The Palestinian people are agreed: indeed there must be
Palestinian elections, but not another round of elections in the
occupied Palestinian territories, for a president of the Palestinian
