The right to resistance under international humanitarian law
International humanitarian law (IHL) does not
expressly mention the right of an occupied people
to resist an occupation. In 1977 article 1(4) of
the First Additional Protocol (IAP) to the Geneva
Conventions clearly expanded the application of the IHL to
armed conflicts in which peoples are fighting
against colonial domination and alien occupation
and against racist régimes in the exercise of
their right of self-determination
.
However, Israel is not state-party to the
Protocol and is therefore not obliged to follow its clause.

The use of force as part of resisting occupation
in the Palestinian case is therefore derived from
the international legitimacy to recourse to armed
struggle in order to obtain the right to
self-determination. In some cases resistance can
also stem from the right to self-defence.

U.N. Report: Jews are Terrorists, Not Palestinians
Jewish settlers are terrorizing Palestinians with
impunity, attacking children on their way to
school and destroying farmers' trees and crops, a
U.N. expert on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict said in a report.
John Dugard, a South African lawyer, called the
withdrawal of Israeli troops and settlers from
the Gaza Strip last summer a positive step. But
the Jewish state effectively controls Gaza
through targeted killings and sonic booms from
warplanes flying over the region, Dugard said in
a report prepared ahead of next week's annual
meeting of the 53-member U.N. Human Rights Commission.

Can there be any doubt who the real terrorists
are? US definition fits perfectly
The patience of all decent men must surely be
exhausted. Today's [27 December] slaughter of
innocents in Gaza, with at least 230 reported
killed in raids on "Hamas terror operatives" (as
the Israeli military put it), amounted to "a mass execution", said Hamas.
Can there now be any doubt who the real terrorists are?
The killing spree couldn't have happened without
the tacit approval of America, Britain and the
European Union. The political pea-brains that
direct the pro-Israel Western alliance were
partying, gorging themselves on Christmas fare or
binge-shopping while this massacre of hungry
women and children and their despairing menfolk
in Gaza was being planned and executed.
According to the US's own definition of terrorism
Israel is squarely in the frame. Under Section 3
of Executive Order 13224 "Blocking Property and
prohibiting Transactions with Persons who commit,
threaten to commit, or support Terrorism", the
term "terrorism" means an activity that:
(i) involves a violent act or an act dangerous to
human life, property, or infrastructure; and
(ii) appears to be intended
to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or
to affect the conduct of a government by mass
destruction, assassination, kidnapping, or hostage-taking.
The order and its definition of terrorism, signed
23 September 2001 by George W. Bush, is used to
outlaw and crush any organization, individual or
country the US doesn't like. The Israeli regime's
"amoral thugs", as a British MP branded them,
have plainly been terrorizing the Palestinians for the last 60 years.

A list of UN Resolutions against Israel
Here is a list of UN resolutions that Israel has
not complied. As far as I know they have ignored
every single resolution. But the situation is far
worse than would at first appear, it involves the
serious distortion of the official Security
Council record by the profligate use by the
United States of its veto power. (See Table)
Israels, defiance goes back to its very
beginnings. This collection of resolutions
criticizing Israel is unmatched by the record of any other nation.

Serangan Udara Israel Hancurkan Masjid di Gaza

Gaza - Israel kembali melancarkan aksinya. Kali
ini sebuah Masjid yang terletak di jalur Gaza
utara menjadi target serangan mereka. Beberapa
warga Palestina dilaporkan tewas.
Akibat serangan udara pada Sabtu (3/1/2009),
setidaknya tujuh warga Palestina meninggal
dunia. Bahkan diantara korban tersebut terdapat anak-anak.
Menurut pejabat medis Hamas, seperti dikutip
dari Reuters, sedikitnya 50 orang ikut terluka
akibat serangan ini. Juru bicara militer Israel
enggan berkomentar mengenai serangan di Beit Lahiya ini.(mok/mok)
