I wanted to share this with someone! I discovered a real Heath-Robinson lightning detector..
We had quite an intense lightning storm last week, and watching my server logs, l noticed the following entries after a few close strikes: Feb 7 17:22:09 abacus kernel: [24941.586544] psmouse.c: bad data from KBC - bad parity Feb 7 17:24:48 abacus kernel: [25099.954805] psmouse.c: bad data from KBC - bad parity Feb 7 17:24:48 abacus kernel: [25100.007411] psmouse.c: bad data from KBC - bad parity Feb 7 17:24:48 abacus kernel: [25100.083384] psmouse.c: bad data from KBC - bad parity It looks like my PS/2 mouse is picking up the RF noise and generating garbage... ;) Regards, Kevin
