Jagdish Chandra Bose, an Indian scientist, conducted experiments in the early part of the 20th century, to prove that plants are living organisms, like animals.   But about 13 centuries before that, the Qur'aan had stated in Verse 6.95 that Allah causes the dead grains and seeds to sprout into living plants.
