Earthquake hits Sulawesi, tsunami warning issued 
JAKARTA (JP): A 6.4-magnitude earthquake hit Sulawesi on Thursday at 4:48 p.m. 
Jakarta time, prompting authorities to issue a tsunami warning.

The quake had an epicenter 291 kilometers northeast of Bitung, North Sulawesi 
at a depth of 30 kilometers, theMeteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) 
reported on its website.

Meanwhile, Metro TV reported that more than 100 aftershocks have rattled 
Sumatra over the past two days after the main earthquake on Wednesday evening.

Meteorology agency lifts tsunami warning in eastern Indonesia 

JAKARTA (AP): Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG)lifted a tsunami warning 
in North Sulawesi, one hour after an earthquake jolted the province at 4:48 
p.m. Jakarta time.

The earthquake was measured 6.4 on the Richter scale.
