MUKTAMAR PAS 2011 ~ THE TRUE COLOUR OF PAS
June 9, 2011 by mthago
Pas is moving forward towards becoming a real political party. This recent
Muktamar of Pas has shown the true colour of Pas. Pas is a political party and
not an islamic and dakwah movement CLICK. Pas should behave like other
political
parties if Pas is to join in the rat race of gaining power and glamour. Pas
must
change in its approach if Pas is to win in the next election. It takes Pas,
such
a long time to realise its true colours. It is true that many people are
allergic with the slogan of Negara Islam and it is not only the members of DAP
who are allergic to the slogan but also many Muslims. Pas should have realised
it a long time ago that the slogan of Negara Islam is not compatible to
Malaysian politic. Pas needs probably the advice of others to change the slogan
from Negara Islam to Negara Berkebajikan. Why Pas takes so long to understand
about politics? It is because Pas was control previously by groups of Ulama who
are not trained to become politicians but train to become teachers or
preachers.
When Ulama who are trained as teachers start to become politicians, until now,
Pas remain a spectator in the political arena of the country. More than 57
years
Pas has become only the spectators and now Pas is moving towards becoming the
main players in the political scenario of Malaysia. Pas members must realised
that Pas is not a Dakwah movement as Tabligh Jamat is only a Tarikat groups.
When Pas realised its real identity as a political party and not a dakwah
movement, then Pas will be able to move forward to become a political party. In
my opinion Pas should change even the meaning of the name Pas, from Parti Islam
Semalaysia to Parti Berkebajikan Semalaysia. I think in this way Pas will be
more competitive with other political parties in Malaysia. We cannot mix the
arts of politic with the arts of teaching and preaching. Whenever we teach and
preach, we must always teach and preach the truth and sometimes we are angry
with the students, but when we are making a political speech, we must speak
according to the tune of the audience and we must never get angry with our
enemies. In a political speech, you may not have to lie but you may not tell
the
truth. In politic, you will only talks what you audience like to hear you
talking.
Many Pas politicians are religious teacher and they behave more like a teacher
rather than a politician. Because of this, Pas is not appealing to the general
public. When Pas politicians who are basically teachers and preachers, speaks
in
public, they generally speak like a teachers. A teacher is a person who thinks
that the persons who are listening to him are their students and are inferior
to
them. When teachers speak, they speak in an instructive ways and they will
speak
the truth and in politic, you must speak what your audience wants you to speak.
In politics peoples do not want to hear the truth because the truths are often
painful. Even though you do not speak the plain truth in politic, but you
should
not make false promises in a political talk. The basis in any political talks
is
to speak what your audience want you to speak. Many Pas politicians are not
trained to give political talks and when they start to give false promises as
for examples if you vote for Pas you will enter Paradise, this talk is the talk
of a bad teacher who turns politicians. Pas has to train their members of
Parliaments on how to give political speech and to make reasonable promises.
Every promises made to the public must be fulfilled. Any politicians who make
so
many promises are usually made false promises. When Pas politicians speak they
must, speak so that peoples are happy to hear their speeches. When Pas
politicians act as a teacher, and treat the audience as their students they
start to behave arrogantly towards them. When Pas politicians start to curse
other peoples in their speeches, or gives warning that they will becomes
infidels if they do not join Pas, many people will turn away from Pas. Pas
politicians must wear dresses that the majority of the public wears. Pas
politicians must behave like the normal ordinary peoples on the street and they
must be humble and willing to help anybody irrespective of their race and
religions. Pas politicians and Pas members should not put the wearing of
Islamic
attires as their priorities and Pas members should not wear clothes that make
them look more Islamic than the other normal ordinary Muslim. In order to be
more appealing to the general public, Pas members must wear as ordinary dresses
as possible.
It is time for Pas to become a matured and professional political party. Pas
should not has the slogan ‘Kepimpinan Ulama’. We are not to make peoples
without
any qualities of a leader to become our leaders. When we make those that do not
have the qualities of leaders as our leaders, we are moving Pas towards
disaster. Pas must change the slogan to ‘Kepimpinan berkualiti’ and Pas must
have many leaders with qualities. It is not necessary that the President of Pas
must be an Ulama but he must be a person with many good qualities that fit to
become the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Pas has been influenced in the past by
peoples with emotions but not with brains. Allah does not make women as leaders
because they are influenced more by their emotion rather than by their brains.
All these while Pas is more driven by emotion rather than by reality. The first
four caliphs of Islam are not from those who are spending more times in
teaching
Islamic knowledge in Madrasah or Islamic Schools but they are the ordinary
Muslims. We should not think only Ustaz can become the leaders of Pas but
everyone with leadership qualities can become the leaders of Pas. Pas should
not
made their members into two camps, the camps of Professional and the camps of
Ulama as this is damaging to a healthy growth of Pas. In Jamat Tabligh CLICK,
they group peoples who are Ustaz as ”orang agama” and those who are not Ustaz
as
‘orang dunia’. We should not be influenced by the narrow mindedness of certain
quarters of Muslims, as all Muslims are the same and Muslims only differ in
their taqwa. It is not true that all Ustaz are taqwa and those who are not
Ustaz
are not taqwa.
As a party that gives priorities to ‘Kebajikan’ all Pas members and Pas members
of Parliament should give priorities to do “Kebajikan” to the peoples
irrespective of race. Pas members must embark on helping to clean deserted
mosques and surau, visiting and helping deserted families, visiting and helping
old folk homes, visiting and helping the blinds and the deaf and the
unfortunates and all those who are in needs of help. Can Pas do all this which
I
have suggested? If Pas is willing to do all the actions that reflect its true
image of Parti Berkebajikan Semalaysia, in no time Pas will be the ruling Parti
in Malaysia. Pas can be on its own if Pas is really a party that put Kebajikan
above all. Not only the Malay but the Chinese and the Indian will vote for Pas,
because Pas is true to its slogan. Pas has chosen the correct slogan and Pas
must work hard to live to that slogan. I congratulate Pas for choosing the
correct slogan. When Pas is acting to the slogan of Parti Berkebajikan, Pas can
stand on its own. In order to be a favourite political party, Pas does not have
to become the enemies of Umno or other parties. When Pas attack the Malay Party
Umno, Pas is looking for a very great trouble from the Malays who love Umno.
Umno has done many great things to the Malay and the country, including the
effort of getting independence from the British. Pas has only started to
Berkebajikan but Umno has started Berkebajikan a long times ago, except Umno
can
do even more. Pas should be friendly to all but politically Pas should remain
alone as suggested by Tun Dr Mahathir. When Pas join DAP which are dislike by
many Malays, Pas will lose influence on the Malays. Pas as a political party
must do what all the Malays, Chinese and Indians likes. Pas can win the most
votes in the next election if Pas is doing what all the races like. Pas must
dissociate herself from the image of Anwar Ibrahim as Anwar is full with
scandals. Whatever the Pas leaders do to denied the issues, it will not work.
The video sex of Anwar is showing that, one of the actors is Anwar Ibrahim and
the video sex has spread all over the country. Pas is a political parties and
as
a political parties Pas cannot be showing any sympathy and pity to those who
can
jeopardise her performance in the next election. Pas must take the brave action
to leaves both PKR and DAP and concentrate on making Pas a party Berkebajikan
to
all. When we do ‘Kebajikan’, everyone will love us including our enemies. Pas
can stand on its own when Pas is willing to do all the above suggestions of me.
When Pas rub out the name Islam from the party it does not mean Pas is not
Islamic. Allah does not look at the names but Allah looks at the actions.
Generally many Malays, has becomes the slaves to their emotions and they prefer
outward appearance more than the real actions. When Pas give preference to
actions rather than outward appearance, Pas will become the most successful
political party in Malaysia. Non-Muslims who like to do kebajikan can become
the
members of Pas but they cannot become the leaders of Pas unless they become
Muslims.
Pas should drop the slogan of Negara Islam, Hudud Laws CLICK and Kepimpinan
Ulama. All these slogans are hindrance towards making Pas a political party.
Pas
must clearly acts like a political party. Pas should not try to looks Islamic
but do more Islamic works. All this while the focus of most members of Pas is
on
the outward appearance but now the focus should be on actions, which is
Kebajikan. In my opinion, if Pas is doing Kebajikan to the peoples, then in the
future Pas will emerge as the best political party in Malaysia.
