[The boisterous anti-Sharia radicals adore this woman, Asra Nomani. Like Irshad Manji, the Lesbian reformer and winner of Simon Wiesenthal award for her 'services' to Israel, Asra is their idol and role model. As if it is the sign of the times of the Dajjal, the lowest of the low, the scum of the society vying with each other to lead the pack of misguided, misled and the lost, groping in darkness, who delude others and themselves in their hallucination, that they are the chosen 'reformers'. They support Islam's enemies who want to see Islam 'modernized' - a code word for a faith stripped of divine injunctions, cardinal principles and cherished values, weakened, impotent, and most importantly devoid of the spirit of Jihad, such that the 'reformed' Muslims would feel at home as members of the Republican Party in Washington or the Likud Party in Israel.

Muslims' answer to the harsh shrills of these radicals is : "The braying of the wild asses is the harshest of sounds".

ASRA NOMANI WANTED IN DANIEL PEARL MURDER CASE

"An Islamic Bill of Rights for Women in the Bedroom" of Asra Q.
Nomani advocates extramarital sexual intercourse, adultery,
fornication (sex without marriage), "pleasurable sexual experience,"
zina and abortion for all Muslim and all non-Muslim women of the
whole world.

by SYED ADEEB

(InformationTimes.com) - Ms. Asra Q. Nomani, an Indian-American
fornicator, had illegal sex with a Pakistani man in Pakistan; became pregnant with his child while still unmarried; and gave birth to an illegitimate child in the USA. She supports, advocates and promotes extramarital sexual intercourse, adultery, fornication (sex without marriage), "pleasurable sexual experience," zina and
abortion for all Muslim and all non-Muslim women of the entire world
through her "Islamic Bill of Rights for Women in the Bedroom"
published in her AsraNomani.com website. She is most wanted in
Pakistan by defense attorneys as a suspect or a witness in the murder
case of The Wall Street Journal correspondent Daniel Pearl, according
to the Lahore, Pakistan-based Daily Times news report of 25-9-2002,
headlined "Daniel Pearl Case: Who and Where is Asra Nomani?", written
by Anjum Gill, which is attached below.

The Daily Times news story quotes Rai Bashir, a Pakistani lawyer, as
saying: "Mr. Bashir has said he suspects Ms. Nomani of working for
the Indian intelligence agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing)."

The following excerpts of an interview with Asra Nomani --
(headlined "A woman's battle for the soul of Islam," which was
conducted by Sarah Karnasiewicz and printed in the Salon.com magazine
on 16 March 2005) -- prove that Daniel Pearl, who suddenly
disappeared in Karachi, Pakistan on 23 January 2002, met with Asra
Nomani inside her house in Karachi on 22 January 2002; that Asra was
an intimate "friend" of Jewish-American-Israeli reporter Daniel
Pearl; and that she is a suspect or a witness in the Daniel Pearl
murder case under Pakistan's laws:

SARAH KARNASIEWICZ (SK): "This month, Nomani launches the Muslim
Women's Freedom Tour, which will take her across the country in a
campaign for religious equity and personal justice for women in
Muslim communities around the nation and the world. She spoke with
Salon by phone from her West Virginia home about her hopes for the
future of Islam, her anger over the murder of her friend and
colleague, journalist Daniel Pearl, and how it feels to be put on
trial by her own mosque."

SK: "Your life has been full of dualities: You chose a very
independent and unconventional life as journalist and a single
mother. How do you think those dualities have shaped your identity?"

ASRA NOMANI (AN): "When I first moved to New Jersey [from India] when
I was 4, I didn't even speak English. So I think I was always an
observer of reality, and ultimately I became an observer of my own
reality, which eventually led me to journalism and writing."

SK: "While covering the war in Afghanistan for Salon, you fell in
love with a Pakistani man and became pregnant with his child while
still unmarried -- an act that branded you a criminal in the opinion
of many Muslims. How did you reconcile your decision to keep your
child with your religious upbringing?"

AN: "I spent my pregnancy curled up in despair, and I lived with the
shame of it like a noose around my neck. I felt so lonely; I had been
fighting for my relationship so I could be the nuclear family I
thought I was supposed to be. But my parents never gave me a hard
time."

SK: "But it seems like becoming a mother really made you aware of
your own spirituality. Did you feel it was a catalyst?"

AN: "What I write about in the book is the moment when I first see my
son; I was in this haze of anesthesia, from an emergency C-section,
and nothing had worked out like I'd planned. I did not have a husband
beside me, and I wasn't even awake when my baby emerged into the
world. I was giving birth in Morgantown, to a West Virginia
hillbilly, right? So when my son, Shibli, arrived, I thought, 'This
is my choice. He's given me a new chance'."

SK: "You learned you were pregnant the same week Daniel Pearl went
missing in Karachi. Did your friendship with him -- and then his
murder -- play a role in pushing you toward doing the hajj?"

AN: "When Danny [Daniel Pearl] came to my house [in Karachi] on Jan.
22, 2002, I was just trying to go on the hajj."

AN: "I knew him [Daniel Pearl] as a human being and a friend -- I
even read every single one of his e-mails, trying to find clues to
his kidnapping, and I don't think many people can say that they don't
have dark moments in their e-mails."

SK: "How has your family responded to the experience?"

AN: "My parents are so resilient, and they are the ones who have
always encouraged me. They never advised me to cave in to fear. Even
when I was in Karachi, it was a risk and a danger to stay and keep
searching for Danny [Daniel Pearl]. We were under virtual house
arrest, even though it was supposedly the command center. We were
surrounded by police and we couldn't even walk outside without armed
guards."

SYED ADEEB: Asra Nomani claims that she is a "Muslim woman who lives
with her parents and young son in Morgantown, West Virginia," USA.
She says: "I offer two charters of Muslim justice -- an Islamic Bill
of Rights for Women in Mosques, and an Islamic Bill of Rights for
Women in the Bedroom. The precepts or the bill of rights call not
for 'reform of Islam' but rather restoration of Islam."

"An Islamic Bill of Rights for Women in the Bedroom" of Asra Q.
Nomani advocates extramarital sexual intercourse, adultery,
fornication (sex without marriage), "pleasurable sexual experience,"
zina and abortion for all Muslim and all non-Muslim women of the
whole world.

Its Article 8 states: "Women have an Islamic right to exemption from
criminalization or punishment for consensual adult sex."

Following is the full text of "An Islamic Bill of Rights for Women in
the Bedroom," written by Asra Q. Nomani:

"1. Women have an Islamic right to respectful and pleasurable sexual
experience.

"2. Women have an Islamic right to make independent decisions about
their bodies, including the right to say no to sex.

"3. Women have an Islamic right to make independent decisions about
their partner, including the right to say no to a husband marrying a
second wife.

"4. Women have an Islamic right to make independent decisions about
their choice of a partner.

"5. Women have an Islamic right to make independent decisions about
contraception and reproduction.

"6. Women have an Islamic right to protection from physical,
emotional and sexual abuse.

"7. Women have an Islamic right to sexual privacy.

"8. Women have an Islamic right to exemption from criminalization or
punishment for consensual adult sex.

"9. Women have an Islamic right to exemption from gossip and slander.

"10. Women have an Islamic right to sexual health care and sex
education."

Asra Nomani, the author of her book, "Standing Alone in Mecca - An
American Woman's Struggle for the Soul of Islam," also
claims: "Facing trial for disturbing the peace of men, I have
reflected on how we need to restore our Muslim world to the
principles of Islam that the prophet Muhammad practiced in the 7th
Century, transforming an ancient desert town called Medina into 'the
City of Enlightenment'. My experience teaches that Islam must
redefine the way it expresses itself so that modern-day Cities of
Enlightenment will shine throughout the Muslim world."

However, a scholar of religions says that Ms. Asra Q. Nomani acts,
writes and talks like a promiscuous prostitute, sexual pervert and
cheap publicity-monger because extra-marital sexual intercourse,
adultery, fornication (sex without marriage), unlawful sex and
unnecessary abortion are HARAM (forbidden or prohibited) in Islam,
Christianity, Judaism and several other major religions of planet
Earth and that these crimes, sins and evils are illegal in almost
all "Islamic" and "non-Muslim," civilized countries of the entire
world.

DANIEL PEARL CASE: WHO AND WHERE IS ASRA NOMANI?
http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=story_25-9-2002_pg7_8

By ANJUM GILL

LAHORE, Pakistan, 25-9-2002 (Daily Times): Rai Bashir, defence
counsel for [Ahmad] Omar [Saeed] Sheikh, convicted for the kidnapping
and murder of Wall Street Journal correspondent Daniel Pearl, has
said that Sheikh's appeal will focus on Asra Nomani, a woman who was
living with Mr. Pearl during his stay in Karachi.

Mr. Bashir has said he suspects Ms Nomani of working for the Indian
intelligence agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing).

During the case proceedings in an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in
Karachi, Ms. Nomani's name cropped up several times. However,
surprisingly little or no details were available about her and she
was not included in the case, neither as a suspect nor as a witness.

What makes Ms. Nomani all the more suspicious is her sudden
disappearance from the scene.

Daily Times has learnt that Ms. Nomani is an Indian-born American
citizen and a journalist by profession. She visited Pakistan a year
earlier, during which time she frequented several Muslim seminaries,
the tombs and shrines of numerous Sufi saints and met with
various 'gaddi nasheens'.

According to sources, Ms. Nomani's actual name is Quratulain Nomani.
She was born in the Indian province of Uttar Pradesh, where her
father, Zafar Nomani, was a lecturer at a local college. When she was
three years old, her family moved to Virginia, where her father
started teaching at the West Virginia University. Ms. Nomani was also
educated at the same university. The unmarried journalist has gained
popularity for her liberal views and attitudes and has also visited
Afghanistan, Tajikistan and India.

Last year, when she came to Pakistan, Ms. Nomani was posing as a
student of mysticism and was seen at the shrines of Data Darbar and
Mian Mir in Lahore. However, according to sources, she was actually
gathering information about jihadis and religious organisations.

Sources said that when Ms. Nomani approached the Pakistan embassy
earlier this year for a visa, she was refused. They said she then
visited the embassy pretending to be a Wall Street Journal
correspondent, but was again refused. The third time Ms. Nomani
applied for a visa, as a correspondent for the US-based news website
salon.com, it was granted to her. According to an Urdu magazine in
Karachi, the third time Ms. Nomani appeared before the visa officer,
she had a recommendation from a 'high-ranking' official.

According to sources, on arriving in Pakistan, Ms. Nomani checked
into the Sheraton Hotel in Karachi. At the time, Mr. Pearl was in
India. A few days later, he also arrived in Karachi and checked into
the Sheraton.

Sources said that after week or so, Ms. Nomani rented a house in
Karachi's Defence area for Rs. 40,000 per month, where she had hi-
tech satellite equipment installed. A short while later, Mr. Pearl
shifted in with her.

Sources said Ms. Nomani also has relatives in Pakistan, including an
uncle, Athar Nomani, who lives in Allama Iqbal Town and is a retired
Water And Power Development Authority (WAPDA) officer.

According to Mr. Bashir, the court will be in a much better position
to decide on the case and the 'actual kidnappers', if it is able to
contact Ms. Nomani and gather some information about her.

During the case proceedings, Mr. Bashir submitted before the ATC that
Ms. Nomani was the only person in contact with Mr. Pearl for ten
days, via cellular telephone. He said the kidnappers were also in
contact with Ms. Nomani, adding that before the conclusion of the
case, Ms. Nomani mysteriously disappeared from the scene.

Mr. Bashir said that he and Omar Sheikh's father, Ahmed Saeed Sheikh,
had started collecting information about Ms. Asra Nomani on their
own, so that they could file an appeal focussing on her.

COUNSEL CHALLENGES CONSPIRACY CHARGE IN PEARL CASE

KARACHI, Pakistan, 3-3-2005 (Daily Times): The counsel for Omer
Shaikh who had been awarded death sentence for kidnapping and
murdering Wall Street Journal's reporter Daniel Pearl submitted
before a Sindh High Court (SHC) bench on Wednesday that prosecution
had no evidence to prove that a conspiracy had been hatched to kidnap
and murder Pearl.

[Defense lawyer] Abdul Wahid Katper was arguing the appeal
challenging Shaikh's conviction by an [unconstitutional and illegal]
anti-terrorism court (ATC) of Hyderabad [Pakistan] before the anti-
terrorism appellate bench of the SHC, comprising Justice Sarmad Jalal
Osmany and Justice Azizullah M. Memon.

The prosecution had alleged that 11 persons, including [Omar] Shaikh,
had hatched a conspiracy to kidnap and kill Pearl in Room No. 411 in
Akbar Hotel in Rawalpindi [Pakistan].

Katper submitted before the bench that the prosecution claimed that
11 persons were part of the conspiracy. However, except for a
journalist, Asif Mahfooz, the prosecution could produce no witness
before the trial court to substantiate the conspiracy charge.

Mahfooz's statement too did not mention any meeting in Akbar Hotel,
the counsel submitted, adding that it (the statement) only mentioned
of a meeting between one Bashir and Pearl. According to the
prosecution, Bashir was a name Shaikh had assumed for his meeting
with Pearl.

The appellant's counsel also challenged the evidence of a videotape
that an anonymous person had handed over to FBI agent John Mulligan
in a local hotel in Karachi. The videotape showed the scene of the
slitting of Pearl's throat.

The counsel contended that the videotape was not an admissible
evidence as Mulligan in his cross-examination in the trial court had
admitted that he had no knowledge as to who had recorded the
videotape and when and where it had been recorded.

Mulligan, the counsel contended, had accepted before the trial court
that the videotape could be faked.
