ON THE AUTHORITY OF OMAR IBN EL KHATTAB MAY ALLAH BE PLEASED WITH HIM WHO SAID : WHILE WE WERE SITTING IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH PEACE AND BLESSINGS OF ALLAH BE UPON HIM , ALL OF A SUDDEN A PERSON APPEARED TO US , HIS CLOTHES WERE EXTREMELY WHITE , HIS HAIR WAS JET BLACK , NO SIGNS OF TRAVEL APPEARED ON HIM AND NO ONE OF US RECOGNIZED HIM .
HE SAT FACING THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH , LEANED HIS KNEES TO THE PROPHET�S ONE�S AND PLACED HIS HAND�S PALMS ON HIS TWO THIGHS THEN SAID : O � MUHAMMAD , TELL ME ABOUT ISLAM . THE MESSENGER ANSWERED : << ISLAM IS TO TESTIFY THAT THERE IS NO GOD BUT ALLAH AND MUHAMMAD IS HIS MESSENGER , OFFER PRAYERS , PAY ZAKAT ( STANDARD CHARITY ) , FAST RAMADAN , GO ON PILGRIMAGE TO KAABA PROVIDE THAT YOU CAN AFFORD TO GO . >> HE REPLIED : YOU HAVE TOLD THE TRUTH .
WE WERE SURPRISED THAT HE ASKS HIM AND VERIFIES HIM .
HE SAID TELL ME ABOUT FAITH .
THE MESSENGER REPLIED << TO BELIEVE IN ALLAH , HIS ANGELS ,HIS BOOKS , HIS MESSENGERS AND TO BELIEVE IN DESTINY , GOOD OR BAD . >> HE SAID : YOU HAVE TOLD THE TRUTH.
HE SAID : TELL ME ABOUT PHILANTHROPY .
THE MESSENGER ANSWERED << TO WORSHIP ALLAH AS IF YOU SEE HIM , EVEN IF YOU DON�T SEE HIM , CERTAINLY HE DOES SEE YOU . >>
HE SAID : TELL ME ABOUT THE HOUR OF RESURRECTION .
HE ANSWERED : << THE ONE WHOM IS INQUIRED ABOUT IT KNOWS NO MORE THAN THE ONE WHO IS INQUIRING . >>
HE SAID : TELL ME ABOUT ITS SIGNS .
HE REPLIED : << THE MAID � SERVANT WILL GIVE BIRTH TO HER MISTRESS , AND THAT YOU SEE THE BAREFOOTED , NUDE , POOR SHEPHERDS BUILD HIGH TOWERS . >> THEN HE LEFT ( THE UNKNOWN PERSON )
THE MESSENGER KEPT SILENT FOR A WHILE THEN SAID TO ME << O� OMAR , DO YOU KNOW WHO WAS THAT >>
I SAID , ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER KNOW BEST .
HE SAID : << THAT WAS GABRIEL ( THE ANGLE ) , HE CAME TO TEACH YOU THE ISSUES OF YOUR RELIGION . >>

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By Allah, if Allah guides one person by you, it is better for you than the best types of camels." [al-Bukhaaree, Muslim]
The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also said, "Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all."
