Prophet (pbuh) said:
�Whoever
does something that is a not part of this matter of ours (i.e., Islam) will have
it rejected� (reported by Muslim in
his Saheeh); and �The best of
speech is the Book of Allah and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad
(pbuh). The most evil of things are those which have been newly invented (in
religion), and every innovation is a going astray.�
- Did Prophet [pbuh]
celebrated his birthday, or did he advised to do so?
- Did Hazrath Aboobacker
Siddiq [r], the 1st Caliph of Islam and the best friend of Prophet [pbuh]
celebrated it?
- Did Hazrath Umer [r],
the 2nd Caliph of Islam ever celebrated it?
- Did Hazrath Uthman [r],
the 3rd Caliph and husband of Prophet's two daughter ever celebrated
it?
- Did Hazrath Ali [r],
the 4th Caliph and husband of Prophet's beloved daughter Fathima, father of
Hassan & Hussein everl celbrated it?
- Did any Sahaba,
followers of Sahaba, Thabis or any muslim ever celebrated
it?
Remember: Mawlid
celebration started in Egypt by Fatimi rulers 400 years after Prophet [pbuh]
death, so it is not a SUNNAH but a Bidaa. When you celebrate; you are
practicing a Bidaa, if not practicing you don't harm anyone. Real love to
our prophet should show adopting his sunnah in our daily life, not celebrating
or making feasts on his name.
And remember Prophets
[pbuh] warning aslo: �You would follow the ways of
those who came before you step by step, to such an extent that if they were to
enter a lizard�s hole, you would enter it too.� They said, �O Messenger of
Allah, (do you mean) the Jews and Christians?� He said, �Who else?� (Reported by
al-Bukhaari and Muslim). The Prophet (pbuh) also said: �Whoever imitates a people is
one of them.� (Fataawa Islamiyyah, 1/115)

with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, and argue with
them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray
from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.}

{And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord
is Allah (believes in His Oneness)," and then stands straight (acts upon His
Order), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous
deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims."} (Holy Quran-41:33)
The
prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By Allah, if Allah
guides one person by you, it is better for you than the best types of camels."

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be
upon him) also said, "Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward
similar to the reward of the one who follows him, without the reward of either
of them being lessened at all."
