To have a model Islamic community we must eradicate the practice of oppression by banning believers from the masjid by dictate.  Those who initiate this haram practice display the same type of arrogance as  Abu Jahl's and multiply teh consequences of their wrong doing by convincing others to help them perpetuate it.

Sura 96 Al 'Alaq or Iqra, which includes the very first revelation to Prophet Muhammad, says in verse 9 to 19 :

[9] Seest thou one who forbids,

[10] A votary when he (turns) to pray?

[11] Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?

[12] Or enjoins Righteousness?

[13] Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away?

[14] Knoweth he not that Allah doth see?

[15] Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,

[16] A lying, sinful forelock!

[17] Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades):

[18] We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)!

[19] Nay, heed him not: but bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)!

The Abdullah Yusuf Ali commentary says "The words, may be applied generally to perverse humanity, which seeks not only to rebel against Allah's Law, but also to prevent others from folllowing it.  There may however be a reference here to Abu Jahl, an inveterate enemy of Islam, who used, in its early days, to insult and persecute the Holy Prophet and those who followed his teaching.  He used, in particular, to use shameful methods to prevent the Prophet from going to the Ka'bah for devotions, and forbid any who came under his influence, from offering prayers or performing devotions.  He was arrogant an purse-proud and met his end in the battle of Bdar."

Assalam-u-Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,

"And seek assistance through patience and prayer, and most surely it is a hard thing except for the humble ones, Who know that they shall meet their Lord and that they shall return to Him."

Whoever Fills His Muslim Brother Needs
[Sahih Bukhari: Volume 3, Book 43, Number 622]

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Umar (Radi Allah Anhu): Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) said, "A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection."

[Sahih Bukhari: Volume 3, Book 43, Number 624]

Narrated Anas (Radi Allah Anhu): Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, "O Allah's Apostle! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet said, "By preventing him from oppressing others."

[Sahih Bukhari: Volume 3, Book 43, Number 629]

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu): Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) said, "Whoever has oppressed another person concerning his reputation or anything else, he should beg him to forgive him before the Day of Resurrection when there will be no money (to compensate for wrong deeds), but if he has good deeds, those good deeds will be taken from him according to his oppression which he has done, and if he has no good deeds, the sins of the oppressed person will be loaded on him."

{Invite (mankind, O Muhammad ) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.}
(Holy Quran-16:125)

{And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness)," and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims."} (Holy Quran-41:33)

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By Allah, if Allah guides one person by you, it is better for you than the best types of camels." [al-Bukhaaree, Muslim]

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)  also said, "Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all."
[Muslim, Ahmad, Aboo Daawood, an-Nasaa'ee, at-Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah]
