Walaikum asalaam

Allah has given ALL men and women the intrinsic sense of right and
wrong (see al-Baqara 2:256) the power to choose between the two is
given to humans alone.

If someone is raised in an environment devoid of Islam or the teaching
of the very idea of tahweed, it will be his or her STRIVING for the
truth that will be their measure.

That striving, the sense that there IS a single ultimate Truth, is the
Islam we are born with.
