Relevant portion of the speech delivered on 29th April by Maulana Motiur Rahman Nizami, Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh and Minister for Industries on Ahmediyya issue:

"Everyday knows well that Jamaat-e-Islami does not believe in communalism. Jamaat has no relationship whatsoever with terrorism: indeed it cannot have such a relationship. Even then attempts are being made to identify Jamaat with terrorists, and bracket it is a communalist party. Let me give an example: attempts are being made to create a smoke-screen in relation to Ahmediyyas. In Bangladesh, Ahmediyyas are a tiny minority and as such they are incapable of creating any trouble. On the Ahmediyya issue, Jamaat's stand in clear. Maulana Moudoodi (the founder of Jamaat) had written on the religious position of Ahmediyyas in explaining Surah Ah-Ahzab (Chapter 33) of the Holy Quran in his "The Meaning of the Quran".

"Jamaat had no relationship whatsoever nor has it at present with the policy of applying force against, and occupying the establishments of the Ahmediyyas. Jamaat has no relationship with those organisations that are functioning in the name of Khatme Nabuwat Movement."

"But attempts are being made to implicate Jamaat with that movement. The Daily Star has recently published a detailed news item implicating Jamaat with Khateme-Nabuwat Movement. We protested. The Daily Star in the first place did not publish our protest note, (but when pressed further) it published the protest note with a (false) explanation that some of the people involved with the Movement were from Jamaat. We again protested categorically stating that those persons do not belong to Jamaat, rather they belong to a group, and are the followers of a religious personality, who are opposed to Jamaat, and that there was no justification whatsoever to shift their responsibility on to the shoulders of Jamaat."

"There is no minority repression in Bangladesh. There are no terrorist groups existing in Bangladesh. There is no incontrovertible evidence to prove to the contrary. However the childish attempts of a very small number of people to forcibly occupy the Ahmadiyya establishments, the video footages of their street march with bamboo sticks had given an impression to the outsiders of the existence of terrorist groups and possible minority repression. But Islam and Islamic values cannot have any relationship with such activities; undoubtedly these kinds of activities have tarnished the image of Islam."

"I would appeal to the religious groups and personalities of the country not to lend their support to these extreme and eccentric actions. Such actions are contrary to the teachings of Islam. Such activities are suicidal to Bangladesh. In this regard, Jamaat has always been vigilant and will remain so Insh-Allah (God willing).

{Invite (mankind, O Muhammad ) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.}
(Holy Quran-16:125)

{And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness)," and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims."} (Holy Quran-41:33)

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By Allah, if Allah guides one person by you, it is better for you than the best types of camels." [al-Bukhaaree, Muslim]

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)  also said, "Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all."
[Muslim, Ahmad, Aboo Daawood, an-Nasaa'ee, at-Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah]
