Alhamdulillah, after a lot of struggle, we are now able to announce the invitation to apply for the first intake of medical and pharmacy students to our brand new University College. Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) has been initiated by a group of people with the intention of increasing the number of high quality doctors with the motto of : "Nurturing the Passion to Care" It is a private medical college with strong collaborations with government ministries especially the Ministry of Defence. Its main campus is at the Street Mall in Cyberjaya and it has now been approved to have 11 hospitals as its teaching hospitals. (Terendak, Lumut, and 9 other MOH hospitals around it) it will have its Clinical School in the new Angkatan Tentera Hospital Kuala Lumpur (Wardieburn camp) Insha Allah by the year 2007. We would like to ask the help of PPIM netters to disseminate the invitation to prospective students who have the 2005 matriculation and STPM result equavalent to the CGPA of 3.0 and above. We also accept other equivalent pre medical qualifications such as AusMat, A-levels, I.B. International etc. Potential students must be proficient in English and has good communication skills. We will give preference to those who have been active in societies and student bodies as well as those who have contributed to community and humanitarian activities. CUCMS will offer 5 year MBBS and 4 year BPharm(Hons.) programmes using the Integrated Curriculum and will utilise modern methods of training including : * Student centred learning * Self-directed learning * Problem based learning * Early clinical exposure * Clinical skills lab * E-learning modules * Small group learning * Digital lectures * Self assessment programme * Community and Family Health * Research and development training * Industrial training We will utilise the facilities available at the various hospitals to include aviation and marine medicine in the curriculum and also make humanitarian medicine and disaster management with exposure to humanitarian missions as part of the curriculum.
